Chapter 5 - How It Works
In this chapter, we will focus on how search engines really recognize your page in relation to SEO. They key here is content. Gone are the days when search engines only recognize and put pages on top for having excessive irrelevant keywords that really don’t give substantial information and so the content of your page really is the major thing to assess for the search engines.
More means better. Indeed it is true that the more things you have in there, the better it is. When you have more content on your page, the more opportunities you have to prove you are worthy of the rank and in the case of search engines, that’s when they can have more chances of getting into your page and knowing what it is all about. Try to keep your posts to a minimum of 1000 words or more because you won’t really be able to prove your worth if you have less than 500 words in your post.
Quality over quantity. We have told you the amount plays a big role in getting recongnized by search engines but that doesn’t mean you just have to focus on the amount you put in there. Search engines have also evolved in recognizing what really has to be on the top spots on the search results and that is by looking at quality of your page. Search engines not only want the ones with so much words in common in relation to the search keywords, but also offer the people what pages are of most quality among the tons of related ones. And when it comes to quality, search engines have a lot of factors to consider and here are they:
Title. This is the most important part in your webpage because search engines place a lot more weight on this than the rest of the parts of your webpage so if your title has a lot to do in relation to search keywords, this will definitely help your page in reaching the top of the search results. But don’t be too abusive on the words that you look ridiculous even to search engines because they know if you have been putting too much irrelevant words just to earn ranking and this will lead you to the other side of the ranking, the bottom. Maximizing your title’s potential while playing fair enough is the balance you have to strive here.
